Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concessionaire (Pty) Ltd (Bakwena) invites South African university students to apply for the Bakwena Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.
Fields Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for Undergraduate studies in ANY field, with preference given to students residing within 6km of the Bakwena N1N4 corridor:
- From Tshwane to Bela-Bela (Warmbaths)
- From Tshwane westwards through Rustenburg and Zeerust, extending to the Botswana border
Bursary Coverage & Duration
- The bursary provides partial cover for tuition fees, up to a maximum of R35 000
- Funds will be paid directly to the institution
- The bursary is awarded for 1 academic year, renewable depending on academic performance and availability of funds
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be studying towards a qualification in any field
- Be entering your 2nd year or higher at university in 2026
- Be registered at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa
- Preferably reside within 6km of the Bakwena N1N4 route
- Have obtained a minimum average of 60% at university

- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric certificate
- Certified copy of your full academic record (including 1st year results)
- A motivational letter
- Certified proof of residence
